Get a look behind the curtain of Amazon AI at the upcoming Gartner Supply Chain Symposium

Between geopolitical uncertainty, economic volatility, talent burnout, and more, the state of the supply chain has never been more turbulent. The good news? Supply chain leaders are not resting on their laurels but taking advantage of the latest tech to combat the challenges.

That includes what we’re doing at Amazon. Next week, you’ll hear about it at the Gartner Supply Chain Symposium. Cary Rotman, Vice President of Amazon Freight and Middle Mile Optimization, and Diego Pantoja-Navajas, Vice President at AWS, will present the session, Amazon: Digital transformation and middle mile optimization with ML and generative AI.

A look at Amazon supply chain AI

Some critics say AI applied in the real world is behind the curve, but that’s not so at Amazon. The presentation aims to explain how we use AI, machine learning, generative AI, and other tech to optimize our network and operations—in both the digital and physical supply chain worlds.

In the session, you’ll see how Amazon uses advanced tech to improve its solutions like demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and route planning. It will also cover how these technologies can reshape supply chains through predictive analytics and autonomous systems.

Cary and Diego will show what this all looks like in action. For instance, when it comes to full truckload route optimization at Amazon, there are about 50 duodecillion permutations to solve for (that’s roughly the number of water molecules in the Great Lakes). So, we have to enhance our optimization algorithms to find the greatest efficiencies. That translates to speed and cost savings for our customers.

The session takes place on Monday, May 6 at 2 p.m. EST, but be sure to check the Gartner event mobile app for the latest details.

Visit the Amazon Freight team

Members of our enterprise sales team will also be on hand. Stop by booth #401 to meet with our shipping experts. You can learn about Amazon Freight’s unique offering that gives shippers scalability, flexibility, and reliability. Shippers can tap into the Amazon transportation network and take advantage of our 50,000+ trailers. In fact, we were just recognized as Newell Brands’ “Asset Carrier of the Year” for our performance and service.

You can also have some fun and see what it’s like to be a truck driver. If you stop by the Amazon Engagement Zone, you’ll have a chance to get in the seat of our truck simulator and see what it looks like behind the wheel of a big rig. This is the same type of simulator drivers use to train before they hit the road.

Amazon Freight won’t be at Gartner alone. You can meet with the team from AWS Supply Chain, as well as Amazon Business.

On the road

Events season is ramping up for Amazon Freight. Whether we see you next week at Gartner or elsewhere on the events circuit, we look forward to talking freight with you and sharing what we can do to help.
