We’re more than halfway through 2025 and it’s been a year of uncertainty. What is for certain? The next few weeks will have a lot of shipping demand. Amazon Prime Day is set for July 8-11 and, with millions of deals on some of the top products, we’ll be working overtime to get our customers’ freight where it needs to be safely and on time.
We’ve had a lot happening the past few months, including new milestones for our trailers and intermodal containers:
More trailers on the road, more containers on the tracks
Dry van trailers have been called the most important box in shipping, and now Amazon Freight has more than 70,000 of them at its disposal. At the same time, we now have more than 24,000 Amazon intermodal containers traversing the country.
These milestones are about building out our capacity so our customers have the scalability and flexibility to meet their freight needs. Amazon Freight makes the Amazon network available to external businesses looking to move their freight (see the video below).
It’s not just about our assets going over the roads and along the tracks but the people and tech behind it. Amazon Freight’s consultants and operations teams are at the ready to make sure shippers are getting the most out of the service. On top of it, our route planning and AI tech help ensure the Amazon network runs smoothly and efficiently.
Shipment visibility recognized by project44
Earlier this year, project44 named Amazon Freight as one of their Preferred Carriers for 2025, joining a top group of transportation providers recognized for delivering exceptional supply chain visibility. The award places Amazon Freight among the top 2% of carriers in project44’s extensive network.
project44, a global leader in supply chain visibility solutions, evaluates carriers of all sizes, from independent owner-operators to multinational enterprises, making this achievement even more significant. The Preferred Carrier Award (Gold level) is a testament to Amazon Freight’s unwavering commitment to transparency and reliability in the freight industry.
“This recognition validates our continued investment in visibility technology and our dedication to providing customers with accessible and accurate shipment data,” said Anthony Garofalo, Senior Partnerships and Integrations Manager at Amazon Freight. “In today’s complex supply chain, visibility isn’t just a nice-to-have – it’s essential.”
For shippers and logistics service providers seeking reliable transportation providers, project44’s Preferred Carrier list serves as a valuable resource, highlighting carriers who consistently demonstrate excellence in supply chain visibility.
