3 ways we delivered for freight shippers in 2025

Before shifting gears into 2026, we’re looking in the rearview mirror. In this 2025 recap, you’ll learn how we helped our customers improve load visibility with smart trailers, cut costs through consolidation, and streamline planning with predictive technology. Think of this post as a highlight reel of freight shipping progress, featuring insights to carry into the year ahead.

Visibility and AI drive transformative results

Transparency has always been a priority for Amazon Freight, but in 2025 we took that commitment to the next level. Enhancements in shipment tracking and customer communication brought more clarity to every touchpoint.

One of the most exciting developments was the continued expansion of AI-powered predictive insights. From forecasting capacity constraints to helping small businesses anticipate demand cycles, Amazon Freight uses advanced AI and machine learning tools to prepare for disruptions before they happen. When they do, we use GenAI to mitigate them quickly.

This approach certainly made a difference for our shippers in 2025. “We understand disruptions are inevitable in transportation,” said Joel McAllister, Director of eCommerce at HydroJug . “The key is to respond swiftly with a resolution, and that’s what Amazon Freight does.”

We believe that transparency isn’t a feature. It’s a foundation. It sets expectations early, builds trust continually, and starts getting results immediately. “Within days of working with Amazon Freight, our inventory management and backups improved dramatically,” said McAllister.

Technology accelerates freight shipping efficiency

Many of the year’s freight frustrations for shippers centered around empty miles, unpredictability, and rising cargo theft risks. To meet these challenges, Amazon Freight uses advanced smart trailer technology with high-tech sensors that monitor everything from tires and brakes to the inside of the cargo compartment.

This technology helps us maximize available trailer space, reducing empty miles and empowering smarter utilization across shipping lanes. The improved security and transparency in load tracking delivered peace of mind to shippers who rely on Amazon Freight to help keep their businesses moving.

For example, Bryan Cuevas, CEO of C Group Logistics , relies on Amazon Freight’s technology for his goods. “When my customers and I see those blue Amazon trailers pull up, we know our shipments are in good hands.”

Consolidation saves time and money

Costs climbed for many businesses in 2025, pushing shippers to get creative about how they moved their goods. Amazon Freight introduced its inbound less-than-truckload (LTL) offering, giving shippers the flexibility they needed. Whether speed or cost took priority, we wanted to make sure our customers could choose the option that best fit their budget and timeline.

Along the way, we learned that consolidating shipments saved many shippers time and money. By combining several small loads into a single larger shipment, they reduced their overall freight spend and empty trailer space.

“Amazon Freight gives me more ‘good days’ with my job,” said Adam Bartell, Manager of Operations at Intelligent Blends . “The more we use them, the more I trust that everything is being replenished and received quickly.”

Anyone involved in transportation knows all too well that disruptions are a part of life. When they happen, the top priority is to find the safest, fastest way to keep freight moving. At Amazon, the Relay Operations Center serves as the main point of contact for drivers experiencing delays.
As we approach the end of 2025, it’s clear that this year has been a defining period for the shipping industry. The challenges that emerged have not only tested operational resilience but also accelerated innovation and strategic thinking.
